“They are a quick way to give control over a dLive or Avantis or even an AHM. “These IP1 and IP8 units are so powerful,” says Peake. Audio controls in each location are handled by wall-mounted IP1s or more tactile IP8s. We used DX168 remote I/O units in each location that streamed in and out of the CDM32 to give me the connectivity I needed in those rooms.

It’s really cool how flexible dLive is when it comes to both control and I/O options, especially since there are two broadcast rooms, a classroom on the second floor, and the presidential suite on the third floor, with All have I/O requirements. A dLive C1500 control surface resides in the broadcast room where the crew can quickly add EQs and compression to broadcast mixes for a bit more hands-on. The chief PA operator wanted quick level control for the stadium announcer mic, ref’s mic and music: a sidecar-type functionality that the IP8 handles with ease. “The PA Mix comes from the Allen & Heath IP8 Remote Control, an 11-1/2” wide motorized eight-fader remote that works with the dLive system. “Although it is a large building, it is primarily a football system with the few open mics required for the main PA,” says Alex Peake, JCA Media Project Manager. At the heart of more than nine miles of combined AV cabling across the site, JCA Media selected the Allen & Heath DeLive CDM32 MixRack, a compact DeLive C1500 surface and a plethora of remote control options to provide audio mixing heavy lifting.
